Mighty Pots of Gold

Rainbows, clover and a leprechaun's front door: this is the friendliest-looking machine on the shelf, and under the daisies it's a 1,024-ways engine with multiplier pots. I demoed it, rode the free-spins round with a pair of ×4.5 pots on the board, and here's the honest tally — including how small it landed.

THE FULL REVIEW

Seven stops around the ride — what it is, how it plays, and where the money really moves.

1 A sunny Irish meadow

Mighty Pots of Gold opens on a bright green hillside — blue sky, a rainbow spilling into a pot of coins, a leprechaun's round wooden door dug into the bank, daisies and a ladybird framing the reels. The symbol set is clover, wishing wells, golden harps, horseshoes and card royals (10 through A). It's the Irish luck / leprechaun theme at its most cheerful, and Spinova paints it well — this is a warm, easy board to sit in front of.

2 1,024 ways, not paylines

The board pays 1,024 ways — matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left, no lines to trace. It reads instantly, and it's the base every feature stacks on. On my demo I sat on a €999 balance at a €1 total bet, the count printed clean across the top of every spin, and small wins ticked in — one cleared clover cluster paid €0.10.

3 The pot-of-gold Wilds and their multipliers

Here's the hook. The pot of gold is the Wild, and it lands carrying a random multiplier — I saw a 1.5x silver coin in the base game and, in the bonus, a pair of pots each stamped ×4.5. The pots substitute for symbols and their multipliers apply to the wins they help make. There are also expanding reels and expanding symbols in the mix, plus a pot-collection mechanic — the pots are the whole personality of this slot.

4 Free spins, and the pots come out

Land the scatters and you're into free spins, where the multiplier pots do their best work. My round opened with a 6 free spins counter and ran down through the set; a couple of spins in, two ×4.5 pots landed together on the board with a €0.90 win showing and 4 spins left. That's the shape of it — the pots stack their multipliers, and when several land at once the round can really climb.

5 A buy button, and the 13,000x question

There's a red BONUS buy button on the right rail if you don't fancy waiting for scatters — a straight ticket into the free spins. The maths behind it: 96% RTP, Med–High volatility, and a 13,000x max win — a genuinely big ceiling for a slot this cheerful. But Med–High variance is real: my own bonus, ×4.5 pots and all, closed small. The ceiling is up there; getting to it takes the pots stacking, not just showing up.

The house rules, plainly

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Ways to win. Wins pay 1,024 ways — matching symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel, with no fixed paylines.
  2. Pot-of-gold Wild. The pot of gold is the Wild and substitutes for paying symbols. It lands carrying a random multiplier (I saw 1.5x in the base game and ×4.5 pots in the bonus) that applies to wins it completes.
  3. Free spins. Scatters trigger the free-spins round, where the multiplier pots do their heavy lifting. Multiple pots on a spin stack their multipliers.
  4. Expanding reels & symbols. Reels and certain symbols can expand during play, adding more matching tiles across the board.
  5. Bonus buy. A BONUS button on the reel rail lets you buy straight into the free-spins feature instead of waiting for scatters.

My own session · nothing staged

HOW I PLAYED IT

Demo run at €1 total bet, off a €999 balance — base spins first, then into the free-spins round to see the pots work. Four frames straight off my screen.

The meadow board on a base spin — clovers, wishing wells and golden harps over 1,024 ways, with a 1.5x pot multiplier coin showing on the middle reel. Balance €999, €1 total bet, the red BONUS buy button on the right.

A cleared clover cluster paying a small €0.10 win in the base game — the kind of steady small change the reels tick in between features. Balance climbing to €1,011.50.

FREE SPINS · 6 leftInto the free-spins round: the '6 Free spins' counter on the left, the reels spinning on spin 2 of 8. Balance €1,006.50.
The payoff shot — two pot-of-gold Wilds landing together, each stamped ×4.5, with 4 free spins left. The board around them was thin, so the win read just €0.90 on spin 4 of 8.
FREE SPINS · ×4.5 potsThe payoff shot — two pot-of-gold Wilds landing together, each stamped ×4.5, with 4 free spins left. The board around them was thin, so the win read just €0.90 on spin 4 of 8.

The honest tally: the base game paid in small change (a €0.10 clover cluster), then the free spins opened on a 6-spin counter. Best moment was two ×4.5 pots landing together with 4 spins left — but the win on the board read €0.90, and the round closed soft. That's Med–High variance for you: the 13,000x ceiling wants a screen full of stacked pots, and a couple of nice multipliers on a thin board still only pays modestly. Lovely to look at, fair on paper — just don't buy the bonus expecting the ceiling. — Tess

The token verdict
THE VERDICT
7.8
Just shy of eight tokens in the tray

What earns its ticket

  • Pot-of-gold Wilds with random multipliers — I saw 1.5x base and ×4.5 in the bonus
  • Big 13,000x max win for such a cheerful slot
  • 1,024 ways reads instantly; fair 96% RTP
  • Warm, bright Irish-meadow art
  • A BONUS buy button for a straight route into free spins

What to watch

  • Med–High variance: my own bonus, ×4.5 pots and all, closed at €0.90
  • The 13,000x ceiling needs several pots stacking, not just landing
  • Very well-worn leprechaun / Irish-luck theme
  • Bonus buys burn a bankroll fast if you don't cap them

Seven-point-eight because the pot-Wild multipliers are a genuinely fun engine, the 13,000x ceiling is real and the art is a delight — held back because Med–High variance means plenty of soft rounds like mine. Demo it, buy the bonus sparingly, and let the pots stack before you get excited. — Tess Hale

Ex-arcade cashier turned pokies writer. Tess reads a slot the way she used to read a coin-op: what it costs to play, what the machine actually gives back, and whether the “big one” is real or just paint on the glass. Sceptical, warm, allergic to hype.

  • Demo first, always — “the cheapest ticket in the park.”
  • Buys the feature on purpose and prints what it returned — no cherry-picking.
  • Logs the real ladder she hit that session, not the marketing ceiling.
