The outlaw birds are back for a second job, and this time the safe is a walking sheriff-star Wild that keeps doubling its own multiplier — ×2, ×4, ×8, up toward ×256 if the ladder catches. I demoed it first, then bought the €100 feature on purpose, tracked every rung, and here's the honest tally.

Seven stops around the ride — what it is, how it plays, and where the money really moves.
Heist Guys 2 opens on a warm saloon at dusk — swing-doors, a long bar, late sun through the arched windows. The cast is ELK's usual comic touch: cartoon bandit birds in bandanas and bowler hats, with keys, dynamite and a revolver stacked next to worn card royals. It's the Wild West / heist theme done a hundred times over, and this slot knows it. The trick isn't the paint; it's what the paint is hiding.
The board is five reels by four rows, and wins land as Multiway — matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left, up to 1,024 ways. No paylines to squint at: three-of-a-kind across the first three reels is a win, and the count climbs with every extra matching tile. It reads instantly, which matters, because the real action sits on top of it.
Every win triggers an avalanche: the paying symbols vanish, the ones above drop down, and fresh tiles cascade in from the top, so one spin can roll several wins deep. On its own that's a familiar trick — but the avalanches are the fuel for the one thing Heist Guys 2 actually gets right.
Here's the machine's heart. The Wild is a golden sheriff-star that substitutes for everything except the bonus bell. It's sticky, it walks to a new cell before each cascade, and — this is the hook — it carries a multiplier that doubles after every win: ×2, ×4, ×8, ×16 and onward. I had a crack myself and watched it grind up to ×64 in my round, and the paytable notes it has been seen as high as ×256. A steady multiplier is common as sand; a doubling one that drags itself around the grid is what makes this slot worth a look.
Land three or more bonus bells (the scatter) and you're into the free-spins feature, where the walking Wild and its climbing multiplier do their best work. A rarer Super bell opens the beefed-up “Super Bonus Drops” round. This is where the 10,000x ceiling lives — you need the ladder to keep lighting while symbols keep falling under it.
Don't fancy waiting for bells? The X-iter menu sells five entry points at fixed multiples of your stake: Super Bonus (250×), Bonus (100× — the free spins), Heist (50×), Mega Hunt (5×) and Bonus Hunt (2.5×). The plain Bonus at 100× buys the free-spins round directly — that's the one I used. It's honest and legible: pick a mode, confirm, go.
The numbers are fair for a buy slot: 96.0% RTP, Med–High volatility, a 10,000x max win and a 0.20–100 bet range. A 100× buy on a 96% game is a squarer deal than a lot of feature-buy slots that quietly charge you more for worse odds. But Med–High variance is real — the ladder doesn't catch every round, and when it stalls at ×2 the buy comes back a fizzer. Chase the ceiling with a budget, not your whole night.

Base per-symbol values read live from the in-game symbol-payout panel on 08.07.2026 at a €1.00 bet (values × stake). 5/4/3 = five, four or three matching symbols on adjacent reels. The Multiway count and the escalating Super Wild multiplier (×2 → ×256) stack on top of these to reach the 10,000x ceiling.

One €100 X-iter BONUS buy, played on the €1.00 spin, demo first as always. Two frames straight off my screen — the climb, and where it landed.
The honest tally, then: the ladder went ×2, ×8, then a lovely ×64 — exactly the escalation ELK is selling, no fish stories needed. But a ×64 star still wants symbols under it, and by the last spin the grid had cleared out, so my €100 came back as €44.40. That's the true shape of a Med–High buy slot: the ceiling is worth chasing, and the flat rounds are just as real. I'd keep the buys sensible and let the big one come to me. — Tess

8.4Eight-point-four because the ladder is real and the maths is square — and not higher because the flat rounds are just as real. Ride it in demo, cap the buys, and let the big star come to you. — Tess Hale

Three dispatches off the poster column that pair well with this ride.
