Tiger Ventura

A grinning tiger in a red silk jacket, a board of mandarins and gold ingots, and a WILD that roars across a whole reel with a multiplier riding it — Tiger Ventura (the reels badge it ‘Ventura Tiger') is EGT doing the lunar-new-year thing with a bit of bite. I demoed it on 300-credit spins and logged the wild in action.

THE FULL REVIEW

Seven stops around the ride — what it is, how it plays, and where the money really moves.

1 Lunar new year, tiger on the door

Tiger Ventura frames a three-by-three board inside a red-and-gold temple scroll, with a jolly cartoon tiger in a silk jacket cheering from the left rail. The symbols are pure new-year luck: mandarin oranges, a red silk fan, the lucky money bag stamped 福, red envelopes with coins, gold firecrackers and a fat gold ingot. It's the oriental / tigers theme dressed with real warmth — bright, friendly, and a step up in polish from EGT's plainer machines.

2 The tiger WILD, and its multiplier

The whole game is built on the tiger-head WILD. It lands, roars WILD across a reel — an expanding / respin wild — and it carries a multiplier with it. In my session I watched two of them stretch across the first two reels while a ×2 lit on the right rail and the tiger mascot flashed a ×10 tag over on the left. A multiplier wild that expands is common enough; EGT giving it this much presence is what makes the slot worth a look.

3 A 3×3 board that reads instantly

There are no paylines to squint at here — a small 3×3 grid, a handful of high-contrast symbols, and wins that land clearly across the middle. It's the kind of board you can play half-asleep, which for a session slot is a feature, not a fault. The expanding wild is what lifts it above ‘pretty but plain'.

4 Clover Chance progressives, and a gamble

Above the reels runs EGT's Clover Chance progressive — four tiers, GRAND / MAJOR / MINOR / MINI, ticking upward in real credits. There's a bonus game, expanding symbols, a multiplier and the usual EGT Risk/Gamble double-up in the kit too. The progressives are the lottery layer; the day-to-day is the tiger and its multiplier.

5 The maths — the best EGT number here

This is where Tiger Ventura earns its score: 96.35% RTP is genuinely good for this style of slot, and it's paired with MED–HIGH variance and a real 7,500× ceiling. That's a squarer deal than most of EGT's low-vol fruit machines — you're taking a bit more swing for a proper top end. Just know the MED–HIGH label is honest: the flat spins between wild hits are part of the bargain.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Grid & wins. A 3×3 grid with lunar-new-year symbols — mandarin oranges, a silk fan, the lucky money bag, red envelopes, firecrackers and a gold ingot. Wins pay across the small board.
  2. Tiger WILD. The tiger-head WILD expands across a reel (a respin/expanding wild) and carries a multiplier with it — a ×2 was seen on the reels and a ×10 tag flashed on the mascot during my session.
  3. Clover Chance progressive. A four-tier Clover Chance progressive jackpot — GRAND, MAJOR, MINOR and MINI — accrues in real credits above the reels and is awarded through a jackpot-card pick.
  4. Risk / Gamble. EGT's optional double-up gamble lets you risk a win for a chance to double it in the usual card format.

HOW I PLAYED IT

EGT's tiger machine (the reels badge it ‘Ventura Tiger'), played on the demo across a run of 300-credit spins.

The 3×3 board — mandarin oranges, a red silk fan, the lucky money bag and a gold ingot — with the grinning tiger mascot holding a ×10 tag on the left rail and the Clover Chance jackpots (Grand / Major / Minor / Mini) ticking overhead. Last win 480 credits.

Two tiger-head WILDs stretched across reels one and two, a Line-2 orange trio flagging 180 credits, with a ×2 multiplier lit on the right rail and the win meter climbing past 100.

The hook is the tiger-head WILD, and I caught it working: a pair of them stretched across the first two reels as a ×2 multiplier lit on the right rail and the mascot flashed a ×10 tag over on the left. A Line-2 orange three-of-a-kind flagged 180 credits, and the win meter was ticking up past 100 on the 300 stake. I couldn't open the symbol-pay panel, so I'm not quoting line values I didn't read. The numbers I do trust: 96.35% RTP — genuinely good for this style — MED–HIGH variance and a 7,500× ceiling, with four progressives up top. Solid stuff. — Tess

The token verdict
THE VERDICT
7.8
Nearly eight tokens in the tray

What earns its ticket

  • Excellent 96.35% RTP for this style of slot
  • Expanding tiger WILD carries multipliers (×2 seen, ×10 flagged)
  • Real 7,500× ceiling — a proper top end
  • Warm, polished lunar-new-year presentation

What to watch

  • MED–HIGH variance means flat spins between wild hits
  • Small 3×3 board keeps the base game simple
  • Progressive pots are a long-odds lottery on top
  • Wider feature kit is standard EGT fare

Seven-point-eight because the expanding tiger WILD has real character and the 96.35% RTP is genuinely strong for this style — and not higher because the base board is small and simple and the wider kit is standard EGT. A warm, well-made session slot with a proper top end. — Tess Hale

Ex-arcade cashier turned pokies writer. Tess reads a slot the way she used to read a coin-op: what it costs to play, what the machine actually gives back, and whether the “big one” is real or just paint on the glass. Sceptical, warm, allergic to hype.

  • Demo first, always — “the cheapest ticket in the park.”
  • Buys the feature on purpose and prints what it returned — no cherry-picking.
  • Logs the real ladder she hit that session, not the marketing ceiling.

TIGER VENTURA FAQ

What is the RTP and max win on Tiger Ventura?
The RTP is 96.35% — genuinely good for this style of slot — and the maximum win is 7,500× your stake. Variance is MED–HIGH, the board is a compact 3×3, and there's a four-tier Clover Chance progressive jackpot on top.
How does the tiger WILD work?
The tiger-head WILD expands across a reel (a respin/expanding wild) and carries a multiplier with it. In my session two of them stretched across the first two reels with a ×2 lit on the reels and a ×10 flagged on the mascot, turning a Line-2 orange trio into a 180-credit line.
What is Clover Chance?
It's EGT's four-tier progressive jackpot — GRAND, MAJOR, MINOR and MINI — that accrues in real credits above the reels and pays out through a jackpot-card pick. Like all progressives, it's a long-odds bonus on top of normal play, not something to plan around.
Can I try Tiger Ventura for free first?
Yes — like almost every slot we cover, EGT's Tiger Ventura has a free demo mode. Scouting a MED–HIGH slot in demo before you spend lets you feel the variance for nothing, and it's how I start every session.
Is Allstars Land a place I can gamble in New Zealand?
No. Allstars Land is a review site — we don't offer gambling and we don't take bets. Online casino play in New Zealand runs through offshore operators with no local licence, so the usual NZ consumer protections don't apply.
